MyCampus Community Guidelines

Effective October 7, 2026

MyCampus helps students introduce themselves and discover campus communities. These Guidelines apply to profiles, photos, captions, student posts, reports, support requests, and other use of the Service. They form part of the Terms of Service.

1. Be truthful and respect others

Do not impersonate someone or misrepresent your age, identity, school, admission, enrollment, class year, or affiliation. Do not bully, stalk, threaten, shame, intimidate, or encourage others to target someone. Hateful or discriminatory attacks, dehumanization, credible threats, and encouragement of violence are prohibited.

MyCampus welcomes incoming, current, transfer, graduate, and other student types. Accounts and submissions are for people at least 16. We do not routinely verify every user's identity, student status, or age and do not conduct background checks.

2. Share only what you have permission to share

Group photos are allowed. Submit content you own or have permission to use. Obtain all permissions required from identifiable people depicted and from a parent or guardian when the law requires it. A photograph may incidentally include someone younger than 16, but that does not remove these permission requirements.

Do not publish someone else's private information, images, social handles, private communications, or documents without the necessary permission. Do not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights or knowingly submit false statements that harm another person.

3. Protect minors

Sexual exploitation, grooming, trafficking, sexual solicitation of minors, child sexual abuse material, and sexualized depictions of minors are prohibited, including digitally created or altered material. Do not target minors for inappropriate contact or exploit someone because of their age or vulnerability.

Report suspected exploitation to support@joinmycampus.com. Provide a content location and a brief description. Do not download, attach, or forward suspected child sexual abuse material. MyCampus reports apparent child exploitation and preserves relevant evidence when required by law. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

4. Keep sensitive information private

Do not post home addresses, precise live locations, private phone numbers, passwords, identity documents, financial information, or private admissions records. Do not pressure someone to share information, money, or intimate images. Do not threaten to expose private information or images.

5. No sexual abuse, illegal content, or scams

Nonconsensual intimate images, including intimate digital forgeries or deepfakes, are prohibited. So are sexual exploitation, unlawful goods or activity, phishing, fraud, deceptive promotions, and other unlawful or rights-violating content. Consent to create or privately share an intimate image is not permission to publish it.

Do not use the Service for unauthorized advertising, mass solicitation, resale, or commercial campaigns without written approval.

6. Use posting responsibly

Safety and anti-abuse rules apply to free and paid posts. Free posting does not create a subscription. Eligible subscriptions allow unlimited legitimate personal posts across participating schools, including reuse of the same bio and photos, without a fixed monthly allowance.

Do not automate posting, spam, repeat submissions abusively, run unauthorized commercial campaigns, submit deceptive content, resell access, manipulate queues or evade moderation. Similar content across different schools is not itself abuse.

Unusual volume may prompt review, but volume alone is not a violation. We may verify, hold or reject abusive submissions or restrict an account on reasonable grounds. Contact support to appeal.

7. Respect security and posting destinations

Do not bypass authentication, interfere with payments or communications, disrupt the Service, obtain unauthorized access, or evade restrictions. Do not scrape or automate access without permission. These rules do not prohibit activity protected by applicable law. Requested Instagram posts must also satisfy applicable destination rules.

8. Take care when connecting with people

Be cautious before sharing personal information or meeting someone you discover through MyCampus or a linked social profile. Consider meeting publicly, telling someone you trust, and arranging your own transportation. MyCampus cannot guarantee another person's identity, intentions, or safety.

9. General reports and appeals

Anyone may report abuse, impersonation, privacy concerns or other violations to support@joinmycampus.com without an account. Include the content location, a brief explanation and a safe contact method. Do not send passwords, full payment details or unnecessary identity documents.

To appeal a removal or restriction, identify the affected account or post and explain the mistake. We review good-faith appeals; an appeal does not require restoration of unsafe or unlawful content or delay a legally required removal.

10. Request removal of a nonconsensual intimate image

If an intimate photo, video, or digital forgery depicting you appears on MyCampus without your consent, you or someone authorized to act for you can request removal by emailing support@joinmycampus.com. You do not need an account, payment, a lawyer, or a police report.

Include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature. You may type your name as your electronic signature. An authorized representative may sign on your behalf.
  • Enough information to locate the image, such as the post URL and a description identifying the image. You do not need to report every duplicate.
  • A brief statement that you believe in good faith the intimate depiction was published without your consent, plus any information helpful in establishing that it depicts you and was shared without consent.
  • Contact information that lets us communicate with you or your authorized representative.

Do not attach, download, or forward the intimate image to make the report, especially if it may depict a minor. A link and identifying description can help us locate material already on the Service. If you are unsure whether your report includes everything needed, contact us and we will help identify missing information.

For a valid removal request covered by the TAKE IT DOWN Act, we will remove the reported depiction from the Service as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receiving the request. We will also make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies from the Service within that time. We will communicate with you about the request's status.

We also act on content in Instagram accounts we operate. We cannot guarantee removal of independent reposts or copies held by third parties, and you can report those directly to the platform holding them. This limitation does not excuse removal from accounts and systems we control or limit a legal removal obligation. A public removal may be accompanied by restricted evidence preservation where required by law.

11. How we enforce these Guidelines

Our team manually reviews student submissions before publication. Uploading photos or saving an unfinished draft does not itself authorize publication. Moderators must respect the publication destinations and permissions associated with the submitted post. We may hold, reject, or remove content, request verification, restrict posting, or suspend or terminate accounts for violations or reasonable safety, fraud, or legal concerns. We may preserve evidence and contact platforms or authorities as required or permitted by law.

Staff may correct an obvious typo and crop or resize media for formatting. Material rewriting or alteration requires the user's request or approval.

When appropriate, we provide a reason and an opportunity to request review. Urgent action may occur without advance notice, and safety, security, or legal concerns may limit the information we disclose. We do not promise that review will detect every violation. Cancellation, refund, privacy, and other mandatory legal rights still apply.
